| [OOL] Slowdown in Brooklyn NY 11228?
Anyone else experience slow downloads and not so good ping. I was playing CS a few minutes ago and kept going up to 200 ping. Just downloaded the new itunes at a whooping 100kb. I pinged in cmd google.com and lets just say it was bad lol. Rebooting the modem did not help. |

Im in 11229. You are just a zip code over, lets hope that the upgrade is taking place, although I not counting on it. |

The upgrade was not suppose to be done until summer time, so I am not counting on it either.
Anyway I ran a line test. I love my average ping and max!!

This is what I've been dealing with since about 3PM today. I reset my modem a dozen times, disconnected my router and wasted a good deal of tonight on trying to figure out what is going on.
Finally called OOL tech support and told them I'm seeing sub-1mbit downstream speeds and nearly 1-2 *SECOND* latency to my first hop.
They entered a ticket and said to call for credit if it isn't corrected within 24hours.
It's taken me three or four tries to load up a webpage... Ugh.. Does anyone know what the heck is going on in Brooklyn?!

Don't feel bad, I'm in West Joisey' it's been like this
for months.
I get 9Mb/900k in the morning and I'm lucky to see
600k/200k at night so I don't think it's my setup. |

Ok.. My service went down for a few hours this morning. When it came back up the latency had disappeared. Downstream speeds are holding all evening.
So I'm back up for the most part as well... The trouble lasted about 8 hours, not really bad when you consider how infrequently OOL goes down. Also the net was reachable, just darn slow.
