I have read in this forum that the 1.1.1.1-SCM01-NOSH firmware for the SB5100 is no good. Why is this? If so can this firmware be flashed? |

2 edits | That version is generally(but not exclusively) problematic with tiers 4000 and above. The issue is slow download speeds. Not every SB5100 with this version has a problem. It depends on many factors.
Modem firmware can not be acquired by anyone except an ISP. Your ISP is responsible for distributing modem firmware.

Maybe this explain why i only get 1000Kb/sec when i should get 1250Kb/sec?
How to know what is my firmware , and if i understand well , only my isp is able to change it? |

| Each ISP decides which version to use. They don't always use the same. An ISP may also have a version that is specific to them only.
The newest I have is: SB5100-2.3.4.6-SCM01-NOSH
Different firmware normally does not increase speeds, improve lag, etc. Firmware updates usually address issues that need to be corrected.
