I feel Adaptation is when an organism changes its behavior or somehow develops something that helps it in its environment so it can survive better.
Evolution is almost the same, except the change is spread across generations; the original organism does not change from birth, but it IS slightly different from its parent organism(s). |

Bacteria don't live very long, and antibiotic resistant bacteria are an example of evolution, not of adaptation.
