| Re: Backwoods? In NE Arkansas, Jonesboro/Cox Comm just got people up to 3mg down about a year ago. Here in Paragould, most of the DSL is 768k if you're lucky. The Power/Water company here offers many different flavors of cable packages, up to 2mg down at 60$/mo, but the network is so totally congested you're lucky to see 25% of that during 'peak' hours (but you can still shove out 400k up). SBC (now AT&T) is the backbone here for everything, but I think they see no reason to upgrade based on what profits they might see from the investment.
I moved here from California a few years ago and wouldn't leave if I was paid twice what I am now, but it would be nice to see some growth in the DSL/Cable.. I get deadly envy when I read about places getting 5/10/15mg downs for what I'm paying, or less.
