[X] another Flip4Mac question

when Flip is installed do you need to have WMP installed also? does it matter if WMP is also installed, or should WMP NOT be installed?

I have a freind with a new Intel iMac and he STILL cant watch WMV files in safari.. he has to manually download the file and play it, then it plays in Windows Media Player.
He has Flip installed, but it's like OS X doesnt know it's there..

Unfortunatley, Flip4Mac doens't work with intel yet -- I have an intel too and I figured that out by asking in here.

There shuold be a universal binary released soon.

You can have Flip4mac and WMP both installed on the system. If he is forcing quicktime to run in rosetta, i don't see why he can't watch the .WMV's in safari.

Only Solution, I think and see, is to make Safari, Flip4Mac , and Quicktime on rosetta.
Until they release a Universal Binary.

Correct. To get F4M to work on Intel Macs, right now you have to do Get Info on the apps you want it to run on (QT, Safari, Mozilla, etc) and enable the Rosetta checkbox.

even though Flip4Mac will install on the Intel Mac, it won't work. That's the official word from Telestream. Hopefully, they will have the UB version out soon.

You didn't read my post at all, did you? Do you even have access to an Intel Mac to see that it does work? Albeit only through Rosetta? Have you even checked the flip4mac forums to see that they acknowledge it works in Rosetta?
