Charging back is a bad idea. Most companies don't appreciate it and there will probably be penalties.
If it was a billing error by Earthlink, it would be wise, and probably less messy to just call and inquire. |

It is very wise to notify your CC company and let them know that you intend to dispute the charge from EL. That's the start of a fairly lengthy process (depending upon your CC company) that can lead to a charge back.
If EL doesn't fix it on their end and you do not dispute the charge within the time alloted by your CC company, then you are completely SOL. Disputing the charge AND contacting EL is the appropriate course of action. -- Don't blame me. I voted for the one with a brain. |
