I received my start up kit about the same time (I'm in Seattle) I've been trying unsuccessfully to get an internet connection ever since. Did you setup your Modem?

What do the LEDs show for the status of the unit?

| Doc Olds--these aren't the correct configuration instructions for the modem sent out with the Line Powered Voice kit. The correct instructions are here:

| reply to tquan Thanks for the resonses. I had set up my modem using the wizard for the Zyxel modem. And it had appeared to have passed all diagnostics. I used the new instructions, posted by tquan, and saw that the multiplex default was not LLC. I changed that - and ran the diagnostic again. The modem failed diagnostics for "ping default gateway", and "test PPP/PPOE connections". Earthlink support still isn't answering, "due to high volume of calls due to a system outage". |

| Did you setup exactly as the images show? No skipped steps and or changes?

What phone number are you calling?

@tpnevents.com | Yes, I've followed the steps exactly. I'm not sure of your question - what phone number am I calling? The DSL line is my home number. |

Earthlink support still isn't answering, "due to high volume of calls due to a system outage". Again, what "Earthlink support" number are you calling that gives you the message you have posted? -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

The modem failed diagnostics for "ping default gateway", and "test PPP/PPOE connections". It often takes more than one run of the diagnostics for them to pass (the modem isn't the fastest at getting sync). The diagnostics always pass for me after 2-3 tries. Usually the first couple of failures are on the same two steps you saw the failures on. |

| reply to Doctor Olds Their basic help line 1-888-earthlink. You then go through a mulitiple of screening questions to get technical support for DSL. It's at the point of getting to the supposed DSL support that the message come through that they are experiencing wide-spread outtages - not terribly reassuring - and cannot take the call. |

| I've been told that the correct Earthlink CS line for line powered voice/DSL bundled issues related to this new ADSL2+ offer is their 888 ELNKVOICE number. (the "C" and "E" are probably not so important). I've found the folks there to be all right--some better than others. |

Ok - I'll keep trying. Thanks for the tip. Normally I just retry the test from the same screen where the failure message comes up. It seems to me like the modem just takes a little while to sync and is working on it in the background. |
