[Vonage] Anyone having Vonage issues lately?

I have been with Vonange over two years now. Things have been pretty good up till about 3 weeks ago. About 60% of my incoming calls have chopyy inbound audio. The other person on the other end of the line can hear me fine.

I have run ping plotter numerous times and nothing seems to be any different than when I ran it and didn't have issues.

Emails to tech support have gone unanswered. I also have Broadvoice as a second line and have not experienced any issues with them. My thinking is that Vonage changed something on their end recently and cant figure out what they did.

I haven't noticed anything in my area. When emailing support use the dslreports@vonage.com address. That will go straight to level 2.

Im in the process of cancelling, to this day i still have the dropped audio issue(since november). I have this at my house as well as at home. It could be a problem in the area, i dont know, since vonage is not taking care of the problem im moving on to viatalk. Ive been with vonage for almost 3 years, i think the problem is that cant handle the amount of business they've gotten.

Have Vonage for 4 months now. I use all my 500 minutes, as well as a lot of incomming minutes. I use it for fax as well as voice, not a single issue here.
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I have two Vonage voice lines and a fax line, and I have not noticed any problems from my location. I have had some problems in the past with dropped calls and chopped/garbled audio which turned out to be faulty ATAs. My experience with calling or emailing Vonage support was less than satisfactory until I sent an email to dslreports@vonage.com.

You may also want to go to »testmyvoip.com and run a few tests, since ping/traceroute tests are not always a good indicator for SIP/RTP network related problems.

It usually has something to do with the 3rd party ISP you are using and not so much specific to Vonage. Since it usually involves the 3rd party ISP it often depends on your geographic location as well. Not only that but it could vary depending on where you are within that providers geographic reach.

Most of the time it has nothing to do with Vonage. It could even be something with your connection. Maybe you have a teenager upstairs downloading lot's of P2P music or a worm on a computer in your house or a flaky router.

I've noticed a lot of messages at the Vonage.com dashboard saying that comcast customers in certain areas might have issues. This might explain your problem johnjr. Today's Vonage Dashboard message is:

Customers may be experiencing intermittent difficulty placing outbound calls due to issues with a local carrier.

Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working with the carrier to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Please remember to check your web account for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter.

Comcast customers located in the Midwest area may be experiencing issues with audio quality and difficulty accessing vonage.com.

If you are a Comcast customer located in this area, who is experiencing an internet service interruption or audio issues, please contact your local Comcast service center or call 1-800-COMCAST.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Fine and dandy in W Pee Ay.
I did notice that on or around March 5, vonage will be collecting 911 fees.
