just to devils advocate...player to player, dvd standalones that play mp3...
if you have more than just an ipod go with higher bitrate mp3s.. imo...

As far as what iTunes is capable of vs. what lame is capable of, MP3 is better. It does VBR properly. |

I encode all of my music in AAC 128 VBR. Saves a ton of space over bigger MP3 files that are necessary to get the same quality. I only use iTunes, my iPod and my Airport Express to listen to music, so MP3 would be a waste for me. |
