Wow, I'm very sorry to hear that you guys in the west coast (and I guess other areas) are having this issue...again...

I was with Comcast a while back until I was able to jump ship when an ISP (which will remain nameless to protect the innocent) came to the rescue. Before I switched, it was around the time they (Comcast) did the push to 6Mbit/768Kbit (~1 yr ago?). The evenings were horrible. The latency and packet drops were unbearable to the point where my connection would be completely unusable. It took them a few months to address the issue.

Good luck, truly, to you guys and I hope these issues are resolved soon.

Well this is not just on the west coast. I live in Nasville Tn. and I am having the same issues in the evening. When a tech was out here he called someone on his phone and let me listen. The boss said they know they are having a problem in the evening but they do not know why and are trying to fix it.
Which like most of you I do not believe. Every night I call and complain to keep pressure on them. Also I ammaking them send a tech out at night during the slow time to see for them selves. I wish I could change but their is no other decent option right now.
