[Cingular] Crossed Lines

I'm still on Cingular Blue, and for the past few days, my line has been crossed with a few other people.

When someone I know calls me, I see their number on the caller ID, and when I answer, it's someone completely random.

When they call me back again, it works. Sometimes when I make outbound calls, the same thing happens.

It's the weirdest thing ever.

Have you called to report it to Customer Care? Unless you notify them, they will never be able to let Engineering know so that they can correct the issue.

Looks like you're not the only one (he's in Florida too).

I called Cingular on Sunday, and they made some test calls to my phone. The calls all went through, so they said it wasn't really a problem.

The thing is, this only happens with local numbers, because I've gotten calls from NYC that come through just fine.

gdm See Profile suggested that I remove my SIM card for about 15 minutes; so far it has worked.
