I have to ask... WTF are you downloading 672GB OF?

Another question... WHERE are you putting it all? That's a major pile of DVDs!

OP states:

...I explained that there are 7 internet users in my house...

That's about 85G per person per month. I don't think that seven people all able to use the Internet often enough to pull 85G each is a "normal" household; probably seven adults. I don't think that Comcast planned for a single household of seven adults. I can't guess that enough of them are gainfully employed that they could sign up for a second account; though that would be a solution, if enough of those seven household members are earning enough money.

I really wouldn't know how to handle that, except that seven heavy Internet users would definitely tax my humble 1536/384 DSL connection.

Its not necessarily where he's putting it... When I'm working on the computer, I have WinAmp running, streaming one of several 128k shoutcast streams, and this runs probably 2-4hrs a day on weekdays, and 6-8hrs on weekends. In fact, on weekends, the computer stays on continually, and even if I'm not -at- the computer, the stream plays as background music for the house. I also play in SecondLife, which downloads a LARGE amount of data, comprised of texture bitmaps, and the like.. I don't download a lot of other stuff, just an occasional Linux distro DVD or CD.
Up to this point, I've not paid any attention to the amount of data I'm sucking, but seeing that Comcrap et al are starting this b.s., Cox, my ISP, can't be far behind.
I guess its time to install some kind of monitoring software to get some idea of what I'm downloading in a given month, so I don't get blindsided by one of these undisclosed 'caps'....
