Re: Hmmm...

You got me thinking again on trying to save my grandmother some more money. I switched her off of Verizon DSL+POTs+cellularmonthly ($35+$25$40=$100 maybe) to ComcastCable+VonageVOIP+Prepaid ($42+$28+$10=$80) to save her $240 a year but now with Naked DSL I could get her down to $60 a month for another $240 a year savings ($25+$28+$10). Always good to be frugal with someone with a fixed income. Too bad I haven't used sunrocket enough. Could save another $120 a year with the 1 year service.

beat this.

free wireless internet that i bum off the neighbor. Adelphias HSI 4 mbit down 512 up. Its running pretty good. Latencity is a bit high but i think thats due to the wireless.

Free cable tv, that i bumed off the cable box in the utility closet. Of course its basic cable but it has the essentials.

$52.17 for unlimited nationwide cellular minutes. only drawback to this is, the phone only works in south florida. Not to bad because i dont travel out of south florida.

this is the ideal economic setup for a college student like me. Someday ill actually be able to afford the stuff, until then im living it up.

I look forward to your future arrest for stealing cable and using bandwidth that doesn't belong to you - here's an idea: Get a job - that's what I did when I attended college.

Sad that you actually take pride for being lazy - how pathetic.

Good for you! I might check with the neighbor. Hey I'd say if the cable company didn't shut off the line then too bad for them! You might want to go cheaper with like sunrocket and then get a prepaid cellular. Cingular has for $9 per month. Sunrocket is $18 a month. So you just half'd your bill!

yeah ive talked with the neighbor, i help him out with his computer troubles, and he hooks me up. Its all gravy that way. If i wasnt buming cable id be buming satellite. I just cant bring myself to pay to watch tv that is riddled with advertisements.

with the good ol cell phone i get unlimited minutes which is a plus. i havent heard anything good about the prepaid phones yet.

O yeah i cut my electric bill in half by running a carefully camo extension cord that connects to the apartment communities street lamps. This beast powers my computer and all its accessories along with the television.

lol, future arrest for stealing cable. you cant prove it! the cable company just accidentally hooked the wrong cable up. I do have a job good sir, thats how i afford the rest of the bills.

And yes i take pride in everything i do.

Thats called Passive Theft.:p

Active theft, typically the focus of past signal theft efforts, is the result of illegal physical connections to the cable plant, or attaching or tampering with equipment to allow the reception of unauthorized services. Passive theft occurs when a consumer passively accepts cable services that are inadvertently flowing into the home due to faulty technical or operational procedures. Consumers are generally aware of passive theft because they're receiving services for which they're not being billed.

Sure you may not go to jail for it, but you can be sued in civil court and end up paying $$$.
