McAfee Questions

I have been thinking about installing McAfee but have little knowledge about the product. I really have 2 concerns/questions.

1. How does it "rank"?

2. Is it a resource hog?

Lastly, would you buy iy from the following website?

Toke it.

Re: McAfee Questions

Since there has been no reply, am I to assume that McAfeee is a terrible product not worth purchasing?

Re: McAfee Questions

I have been using McAfee for 4 years. Until they upgraded to version 10 I had no problems, but now I wouldn't buy McAfee again if you paid me. It is a resource hog, it doesn't work properly and the customer service/tech help sucks.

If you want to get some idea of the problems look here

(pass the fat one please.. stressed now!)

I have also been using Mcafee virus scan and firewall for years. Have never had any problems or infections....FWIW

We've been using the corporate version since 4.0. We're now at 8.0, which is the latest corporate version. It's worked great for us for years now. There may be differences between the corp. version and the home version though. Maybe the home version isn't as good?

I'm using the Free Comcast Version of the WHOLE McAfee Suite! It replaced every AV and Firewall I used.. I LOVE IT! Great Detection and it's free!:D
Only on my Laptop I use TrendMicro Corporate... McAfee is much much better...

Use the firewall and the virus scan free version provided by Comcast. I have used many, this one works just fine for me. No problems

Well.. it depends on your surfing habits. I purchased for my laptop, but after finding out it needs activex controls to run. I decided not to use it. I installed it on my kids puter. Works well for them.

I have used McAfee Antivirus and Antispyware for many years now and like it. I get the Antivirus free through my Verizon/Msn premium which is great. They also offer the free firewall but I prefer using my zonealarm pro.

The only problem I ever had with McAfee Antivirus was when I was downloading the new version and the download page kept shutting down. Took me a long long time to finally get it downloaded and installed. I read of others having the same problem during download so maybe they got that fixed by now.
