| What is your dream Wish Seti /Boinc computer?
We all talk about RAC and work units done by us and others. We see or tell each other about our setups. If you had the money to spend or additional access to and were able use or buy and or build a dream wish system realistically what do you think it would be.

I like that idea. At my work there are close to 3000 P4 2.8 GHZ HT computers. Can you imagine that RAC?? :D |

The monitor alone costs more than my whole system yet alone the memory and etc.
That Machine is not a dream it's miracle Seti machine it's RAC would be about 10k+ a day.

I guess it would have to be one of my servers at home that I'm currently NOT using for BOINC (yet). It's an HP Proliant DL740 with 8x3.2Ghz/2M processors and 16GB RAM. As soon as I get home from this deployment, I plan on tossing BOINC onto it. I'm not sure if the optimized clients will work, but I'll try regardless. I can't wait to see what it does. My guess is (and I did this with SETI-Classic) that I'll run 16 instances (for hyperthreading).
Dream: 8x3.x dual core Xeon's ... I'll talk to my HP rep about getting an eval...if they have one yet. I've been so far out of reach on technology for the past 10 months, I have no idea what's out there anymore.
