[BOINC] Trux on linux & Mac

truxoft_prefs.zip 242 bytes
(truxoft_prefs.xml)
I tried the trux client a while back on my linux boxes but didn't understand it entirely, after some research and reading what people have been doing with it (on windows), I think I have gotten it to start calibrating on linux.

When you download the trux linux client »boinc.truxoft.com/download/boinc···x.tar.gz you only get the boinc executable file and not the truxoft_prefs.xml file.

you can either create the truxoft_prefs.xml file in your boinc directory using the one I uploaded, or download the windows zip from the trux site »boinc.truxoft.com/core-cal.htm and edit it to your liking.

here is one of my machines that is using it and you can start to see the difference it is making »setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_hos···=2105756

Maybe this could be stickied or added to the Trux instruction thread.

You can use the trux client on a Mac with a build that I compiled and loaded into this thread: »[BOINC] trux on mac

Re: [BOINC] Trux on linux & Mac

You may also want to use the check_max_time directive to keep your BOINC client from wasting precious time crunching on a crap WU. Here is the truxoft_prefs.xml that I use.

<truXoft_conf>
<check_max_time>2.5</check_max_time>
<return_results_immediately/>
<calibrate_credit>all</calibrate_credit>
</truXoft_conf>
