I drive to MCC everyday and I just can't stand it anymore, there is so much activity going on. I can't wait till they start laying it in my neighborhood. Maybe by the end of the year I can get FiOS... |

If you're able to stop and talk to them, they're usually (even the contractors) friendly and willing to tell you, if it is FiOS inner-duct they're running. |

I just saw workers with three gigantic orange cable reels advancing down McIntosh toward Fruitville, near Oak View Drive -- FIOS in the works for this part of Sarasota County? I sure hope so. |

Live in Country Oaks just North of University Parkway off Lockwood Ridge. Was hooked up with Fios internet service a little over a month ago. Signed on with the 5/2 package and it is constantly running faster than the Comcast I had prior and at a lesser cost. I am switching from Dish Network to Fios for my tv service with installation scheduled for Monday the 27th. A problem with my Dish 921 HD DVR is what led to this. I just wished the Fios HD DVR had a larger storage capicity and hopefully the picture will be as good as what I've read. |

| Fiber is being layed further down lockwood rigde in sarasota as of the past week. They went all the way down to gocio road right next to kensington park devolpment. They however have not moved into kengsington park but gocio road runs right along the devolpment so its no time before it comes into my area. Anything all along lockwood rigde is likly to expect FiOS progress through the following weeks. Its the first offical stuff ive seen happen in sarasota. I talked to one of the contractors he said that he did not know the expected areas to devolpe in however he knows they were only going to go about another half mile down gocio road. Again the contactors only know what there told to do.
Go figure the same time this happens, theres a door knocker from comcast offering 1 year free of digital cable tv. :-p Poor comcast. Unless they roll out 16/1 soon, im switching.  |
