Time Warner Cable defiantly has int rest but the Dolan's have never been willing to sell.
Remember Cablevision owns lots of other assets beside cable, like MSG, and the Knicks. Along with lots of content.
Time Warner would jump at the opportunity.
However it is not likely to happen.
Insight seems more of a possibility since it is in Ohio area, and there would be some int rest, and a easier takeover.
However the ATT deal doesn't put any pressure on Time Warner or cable companies. They are already acquiring adelphia, and as far as charter is concerned, that would be more of an int rest to cox or comcast Geographically.
Charter could threaten to sell off some of its business to AT&T and that would pressure cable to come forward. Charter and AT&T had relationship before. |

Cablevision was almost sold, TWICE, to a company called US WEST, in the early 1990's... but there were problems with the negotiations that caused the deal to fail. -- I walk a lonely road The only one I that have ever knownDon't know were it goesBut its home and I walk alone I walk this empty streetOn the Blvd. of broken dreamsWere the city sleepsAnd I'm the only one and I walk alone |
