| [Hardware] F5D8230-4 loosing connection, problem with Blueyonder
Hi guys,
I've been trying to setup this router all night but I'm starting to bang my head against the wall.
I've successfully configured the router on the LAN, and it all connects fine, but looses it's connection after so many seconds.
When I look in the error log from the web interface I get the following:
"Thu Jan 1 00:08:21 1970 1 Blocked by DoS protection 10.72.0.1"
So I done a bit of reading, and I think that it has something to do with the UBR addy (10.72.0.1), but I'm not sure how to resolve it (ie. to take the filter off the DHCP ports)
I'm no network expert, but I do know little bits so all help is greatly appreciated.
I've updated to the latest firmware on the router. I'm running Windows XP Home SP2.
ipconfig --------- Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Home IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
Connection type has been set to static with the following ---------- Internet IP Address: 82.xx.xx.xxx Subnet Mask: 255.255.248.0 Default Gateway: 82.xx.xx.x Primary DNS: 62.31.144.39 Secondary DNS: 195.188.53.175
Cheers in advance |

I am having the same issue too... I am waiting for Belkin's replacement before I can tell if it's the ISP or the router's problem. |

I have no idea how you are even able to connect to the net with the 255.255.248.0 Subnet & 82.xx.xx.x Gateway. |

| Really? How come? Does it not calculate correctly or something -I've never really done the maths on this sorta stuff before.
I wrote them down from a direct connection to the cable modem and they've worked for me in the past using a wired Linksys 4-port router.
Btw, other info that may help diagnose: Router is attached to cable modem (motorola surfboard) and I'm using an ethernet port to go to the computer (rather than wireless at this stage) |

| reply to flyingbuddha Solution!!
Yay me! I found the solution. Under the Wireless section in the control panel (default location is »192.168.2.1) go to MAC address control, click the 'allow' radio button and click add (without typing anything into the box) click apply.
I don't get why this would affect a wired LAN setup though (as I had disabled wireless at the time)
Other things I done, that may have helped but not entirely sure is:
under Internet WAN tab -> Mac Address link, I clicked clone and apply.
I still get the security log messages about the internal IP but realise they are now safe. Everything is working great (I'm using it now to surf and write this)
