That supposed "whitepaper" is written by the president and CEO of bigfoot. How does that make it legit? And the cover page makes it so no one can take it seriously (c'mon, a fro'd whiteguy looking mad and frustrated??) And I love this quote: said by "whitepaper" : Lag could be loosely defined today as everything bad that happens in an online game. It's become like an online curse word.
LOL Yeah it can, if you want to redefine WTH it means!
And this is just off the wall!! said by "whitepaper" : Lag has no definition. It is a slang term that online gamers have been using since the early days of online gaming to represent anything funky going on in an online game. Today, anything bad that happens in an online game is called Lag.
My computer crashed, it was "Lag". You're a damn idiot, must be "Lag". And I just redifined "funky"... it now means anytime there is an off-sync from the client and server.
Now, is it me or did he not reference his points and just added references to make it look good? I only found one superscript and it was for "Misc. Internet Data."
I'm guessing we'll be seeing the comm... er... infomercials for this between 2am and 5am Sunday nights?
Add: He "filed over 19 patents in the field of Network Acceleration" while at Intel. So he filed 20? And does this mean he filled out the forms and sent them in? A play with words is the marketer's calling card. But if he used these patents, they're owned by Intel and would be infringing. Hmm, maybe he'll be going away! |
