Typically it's authenticated PPPoA. You need the ADSL account's userID and password if you use the ATA directly behind the DSL modem. If it fails: Put a router in between that you know works and retry.... | T-dsl uses pppoe. Pppoa has the advantage of less overhead since there is no need to packetize to reach atm since you go directly onto atm. Therefore one gets higher speeds.
Nota bene to others: t-dsl is the brand name of adsl supplied by deutsche telekom in germany. You won't see that name elsewhere.
