Does your pda support the WPA? Disable Caps Lock though whatever the case

general suggestions
»Wireless Security »Why do I get a Communications Lockout or DHCP Failure

do you have problems connecting any other device using wpa?

It might support WPA-PSK, but does it only support TKIP?

I know my Axim x30 has that same issue; AES isn't supported. Try setting your network up to only use TKIP and see if you can connect.

I'd be curious to know what PDA? PDA is a pretty generic term...

As Nerdtalker notes look at the WPA settings on the PDA. His point is well taken since no current PocketPC (one flavor of PDA) supports WPA-PSK (AES).

I would also make sure the PDA is up to date as far as firmware/drivers/ROM versions are concerned and make sure the wireless access point is running the latest firmware.

No... AES will NOT work... Use TKIP...

Are you using the supplied Funk client. My brother has a X30 and must use the Funk client, versus the built-in Dell manager, in order to connect using WPA-PSK (TKIP)...

Use this WPA key generator. You can cut-n-paste the key into the Axim from a text file...

When we say that "no known PDA supports AES," aren't we referring to the wireless hardware therein? I can do just about all with my Cisco Aironet 350 PC card (802.11b), but AES, because, and I quote from Cisco, the hardware in that line does not have AES support, unquote. Tempts me to shell out 4 times what I'd pay for a consumer card for their latest, an a/b/g card, because their hardware and software for the Aironet line is so good. YMMV, naturally. ... My wallet usually smacks me down and tells me to get a $15 PS2 game or a new CD to satisify my retail bent.

I mean specifically PocketPCs do NOT support AES hardware either internally or with an add on card. I can't speak to Palm devices...

  Well, I stand corrected...

Apparently the Juniper Networks Odyssey Access Client for the PocketPC supports AES...

As always...YMMV...

And as always, you sincerely impress me as one of the very few people who can stand and correct you, Al.

P.S. I bought a used CB21AG for roughly what a retail store brand would cost. Yippee I can do AES at home again.
