Re: [Speed] COmcast Internet 8MB Problems

Funny, I have the same ethernet card, and started having trouble three weeks ago with my 8mb package. I downloaded latest drivers with no luck. Still, going to get a new ethernet card and see what happens. I have already had a tech visit and they said signal was good from cable line, but switched out the modem from RCA to Motorola. Notice the most problems in the evenings and weekends (download speeds will be all over the place, uploads are glacially slow at 40-60 kbs). Live in Scott Township, PA (Pittsburgh).

Speed in Woodridge went to 1000Kbps today.

I have been loosing speed at each network change they make.

Advertised up to 6Mbps this summer in my area... Dropped from 3.7Mbps to 2.5mbps shortly after.

Now it is horrible

looks you have fairly bad packet loss. If your connection was OK before and you haven't changed anything, this is most likely a comcast issue.

check your modem signal levels (enter 192.168.100.1 on your browser) and post.

[Speed] COmcast Internet 8MB Problems

Hello I have recently ran into some serious speed issues with my comcast internet. I have the 8MB package from comcast. I use a Linksys Router BEFSX41 Firmware 1.52.9. I have a P4 2.8GHZ PC 1.5G Ram (PC3200), 9800 Pro vid card. I also have a Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC#2 Driver 5.38.613.2003 Its from 7/1/2001. Anyway I play World of Warcraft and lately i started having problems. At one point my latency would be 100 to 300 and out of nowhere it would go up to 900 and ever 2000. I did the download test and this is what i got. You may want to

copy/paste this box:
dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-03-12 01:14:46 EST:
2347 / 10
Your download speed : 2347 kbps or 293.3 KB/sec.
That is 48.9% worse than an average user on comcast.net

Your upload speed : 10 kbps or 1.3 KB/sec.
That is 97.4% worse than an average user on comcast.net

I was sent to this page from a fellow player in game said there are a lot of helpful people here. If anyone has any questions or input on my issue please help me out. The network cable is a brand new Belkin Cat5e cable and it runs about 60 to 70 feet from the cable box on the side of my house. There is 2 computers total connected to my router.
I also ran this test
