Re: And how much is this going to cost

Its not going to cost 900 dollars. jeez. Be realistic. Every console comes out selling them at a loss. My guess is that the console will cost more than the XBox 360 due to the fact that blue ray simply costs more to produce. Given that the Xbox 360 currently doesn't even use next gen optical drive technologies. The only reason that Xbox 360 came out so early is that they wanted a jump start on Sony otherwise they'd still be waiting for the HD drives to come out, thus making the 360 ship around the same time as this PS3 creating more competition here in the states. But MS never wants to play on a level field. They always like to screw over the customer/consumer. And most of the droves of people, including friends of mine got screwed. Because within a year or so the optical drives in the 360 will start to ship with HD drives installed already. And what about those who already own a 360? Well they get to buy and add on. What a joke.

Don't think for a minute I'm a PS3 fanboy. I'm completely disgusted with how Sony has handled their PR for the PS3. The cost itself is a deterrent to me. There is no way they can sell this thing at under 300. Which to me is more than I would want to spend. I was willing to spend 199 for my PS2 at the time, but now that games are 60 bucks a pop there is no excuse to rise the cost of the machine. The only reason the PS3 won't turn into a Dreamcast is that Sony isn't going bankrupt like Sega did. Which is one of the main reasons that Dreamcast died.

Re: And how much is this going to cost

I think it will be priced around $599. Anything more and it will kill them. I bet M$ drops the 360 price another $50 and releases the Halo 3 (or 2.5 or whatever they call it).

Sony can do like M$ and eat some of the cost, where it should make back some on the titles and its network gaming.

Honestly, Japan will get these first. Then the US market.

I like the black version. But will they still have the silly controllers?

I'm more for the Nintendo system. I still love my GC. I just got the 360 and not impressed with limited titles and prices.
Still, once I get my copy of Blazing Angels...;)
