T1: Line of Bull?

I live in an apartment building for students that has 3 T1 connections. Occasionally our internet slows to a halt. Verizon has blamed the problem on wireless routers. Something about the routers causing a "loopback" to the master router connecting the LAN to the T1 lines.

Is there any truth to this? I imagine it is possible, (in that it is not impossible) but I find it highly unlikely that wireless routers are slowing our connection.
