| Can online gaming be killing my connection
I had another of many mystery outages with my cable modem today. The last two times I've lost my connection it has been while starting up a multiplayer online game. Has anyone ever heard of something like this being a cause of an outage? The reason I ask is because the techs that have been out in the past have never been able to find the cause of my outages. All of my lines test fine and trying different modems does nothing. My connection will then suddenly comeback later in the day with nobody having an idea what caused the outage. |

I know that the in-game browser for Counter Strike:Source can cause routers to lock up (for a few minutes), but I've not heard of modems doing the same. |

| I just realized that I'm 100% sure that my connection died after starting up the game. I was able to refresh the master server screen but then was unable to connect to a server. Since I was able to refresh the list I had to of had a connection. Maybe it's just a huge coincidence but I don't think so.
So wtf is causing me to have no connection even after rebooting the computer and the modem? |
