I just tried it on Firefox...

And it nicely prompted me that I needed to install the proper ActiveX control on Firefix.

We're sorry, this feature requires the Mozilla ActiveX Plugin. Click here to install.

Since when did Firefox start being compatible with ActiveX controls??

yeah I didn't much like that either.
and strangely, no extension shows up.
So what did it install?

After allowing the install, about:plugins shows
Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin support
File name: npmozax.dll
Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin module
which seems to be this (which I've read about before, but briefly):

Google on the DLL name reveals more...

I guess the same way one uninstalls any Mozilla (Netscape, etc) plugin - remove it from the plugins directory!
In searching to see if there's a 'better' (automated) way, this was fun to see:

AOL couldn't have screwed this up more if they tried!

"There is an ActiveX plugin available for Mozilla. However, installing it can cause many problems, including crashes and conflicts with installed plugins. It is generally recommended that you do not install this plugin, unless you are specifically instructed to do so or are using it to solve a specific problem (and configuring it accordingly). If you install it and have problems, the only support you will usually get is "Uninstall the ActiveX plugin". You have been warned. "

along with the *shwoosh* *swish* *snap* sound effects.
What were they thinking?

score: 2 out of 10.

The HQ video works great for me in IE.

This is pretty cool!

I have 640GB free, and the video HQ delivery manager tells me my hard drive is full. Way to go AOL!

For some reason it doesn't work on any computer I try it on. I've downloaded a movie using HiQ, but that doesn't seem to work either. I'm wondering if this may have something to do with being located in Canada? Anyone else having problems playing video here?
