[H/W] 3rd party memory upgrades for 870 series

Does anyone have a source for 3rd party memory (both Flash and DRAM) for a Cisco 87x router?

Or, if they have a box with more than the minimal configuration, can they read off (and post!) the markings on the supplemental DRAM and Flash modules?

Thanks!

I usually find memory the cheapest on ebay when it's for Cisco stuff. I just picked up a 32mb DRAM module for my 2600 router for 17 bucks shipped!

The 870 use PC133 SDRAM 168-pin DIMMs and the memory has to be configured in a particular way because most of the standard DIMMs I have tried only show half the memory.

Just as importantly they are a low profile type, standard DIMMs touch the top of the metal shielding. Third party upgrades are starting to appear although they are still pretty expensive considering what they are. On ebay there is somebody advertising 128MB upgrades for $200. My guess is they will get cheaper as more people enter the market.

Having only half the ram show up sounds like the high vs low density problem. If you use high density ram on a low density board, it will only see one side or half the memory.

And Flash? Anyone have experience upgrading the flash, or can give the specs or markings on the soldered flash?

Thanks.
