i had to check this forum from schol today since i couldnt get ANY connection at all this morning lol. At first i was hopeful that it's down cause they're working on fixing their problems, but that's probably just wishful thinking.
Laguna west gets 20Mbps? how much does that cost. I'm looking to move soon anywas lol |

| reply to CalibanXV Same here! I live in Rancho Cordova and so far three technicians have come in the last 3 weeks. I even changed my router. BF2 is simply not playable at this point. I get pings up to 1500ms for www.yahoo.com for example. |

| i love how they spend all this time/money sending techinicians out and paying for customer service reps to tell us to clear our cache and delete our cookies and replacing modems etc, instead of just upgrading their service. they offer 16 mbs servicein areas that have fiber, so they can do something when they actually want to. |

| reply to nizrulesall Well, hate to keep hearing others having similar problems. I had such bad connection last night at approx. 9:30p that I called Comcast in frustration after doing some tracerts and ping tests. The guy basically verified that I was doing horrible and scheduled a tech for Friday noon time. He said he would make notes to the tech to search outside the residence.
Here's hoping the tech is knowledgeable and will spend some time troubleshooting.
I'll update after hes done.
The Comcast Official Forums are located here »www.comcast.net/help/ under the Help Forums - click on Connection.
Good luck to all |

| reply to fiberguy I think they will eventually. Fiber would be a hell of a lot better than Frontier (ihad). Or Comcrap (i have). People will drop those two like a ton of bricks. All I ever hear is complaints about Comcast. |

| reply to Sinkalip If anyone noticed a significant improvement in their internet connection speed over the weekend, I know why. The fiberoptic cable that was vandalized in South Sacramento on March 9 was finally repaired. Come to find out, almost all of the Sacramento area traffic was being diverted through Folsom causing significant slowdowns, packet loss, and dropped connections (don't ask me how I found this out, but it's true, it came straight from the mouth of someone who works there).
It's great to know that Comcast cares so much about their customers that they lied to me for a whole month, while sending 6 repair techs, fielding around 100 telephone calls from me, and finally having their local network engineer personally call me. If they had just been up front with me about the problem, I would have patiently waited for a fix. Instead, they waste valuable time and resources (mine and theirs) giving me the runaround instead of telling me what's really going on.
But a whole month! Give me a break! Something that takes that long to fix, they should at least be honest with their customers. If I don't see a credit on my bill (not very likely), I will be making a telephone call to someone to see where my credit is for the period of March 9 to April 2.
If you have called them to report a connection problem at any point between March 9 and April 2, I suggest you do the same, even if it did work somewhat okay. They shouldn't be able to get away with this crap.
The $40 credit is a drop in the bucket compared to the time spent dealing with it, but it's just the principle of the matter...
Gaming, Vonage, and uploads all worked erratically between this time period, with heavy packet loss and dropped connections. |
