Hope it made a smile or two...

The Light box:

Its real easy to make, if you have a glass shop around or ( Tap Plastics the better) buy a sheet of 2x4 florescent diffuser panel. Ask for or find Prismatic white. It costs about 4 to 5 bucks have them cut it into 11X11 square you'll end up with 8. Use good clear package tape and start taping it holds up real well. I can lift the box with things in it and not worry. The plastic and cutting was like 8.95 at tap plastics. Get some one to cut it it's PITA to do yourself.

I used two lights I had around they run 8 bucks and I use 75 watt clear bulbs. I use a hanging spot for the top when I need it.

Hope this helped.

Can you confirm, do the "prism" side of the panels face the inside of your light box? Would make sense for better diffusion.

I purchased a couple of 2'x4' white prismatic panels today. Will be fabricating a slightly larger box (2'x2'x2') for larger objects.

Edit: They also had a different textured panel called "ice" or "ice crystal". Looked like it too could do a good job of diffusing. But they cost 50% more

In the old hardware selling day's we sold all the types, the prismatic is the best for even diffusion. Yes the Smooth side out on the box. The other let in more light but you will get an uneven effect.

Nice job. Home Depot and Lowes stock those panels.
