I attended and am writing up notes now - there was a fair amount of disinformation distributed which took me several phone calls and emails today to untangle - I'm still waiting for some more to figure out what's really going on. In answer to your specific question: there was no Verizon representative present. Wasn't even on the agenda. Where'd you hear that from anyway? |

| I heard it at the TAC meeting I attended in April. Just goes to show you can't believe everything you hear at a TAC meeting. 
I think they said Verizon was invited but at that time it wasn't yet confirmed. I'm really surprised Verizon would pass up the opportunity to speak to the TAC. |

Hmmmm.... seems like the dog's not trying to hunt... more like they are waiting to see if either a state or a national bill will be passed to handle all the franchising nonsensee...
Personally, I'd like to see all the elected officials in the county be recalled and we vote in a bunch of kids from grades K-3 to run the place...
Everyday I'm more convinced the kids could make better decisions for all of us here in the county!

IMHO, looks like verizon is waiting for a national franchise bill. It will be interesting to see what the July construction schedule looks like for Montgomery county. This is really irritating to me, as the pole across the street has orange conduit run up it, all coiled up and ready to go - isn't the orange conduit what they pull the fiber thru?

According to the Post, Duncan will finish out his term and will not run again. Given that I've never agreed with his telecomm-related decisions, I'd recommend he step down immediately. At his most recent annual meeting with his own advisory committee on telecomm issues, he didn't even show. And if really believes what he said ("Now it's time for me to focus on my health"), then he's got his own reasons to step down. |

This conduit would have come up from the south, along Travilah road; I have seen the same stuff along Glen Rd. which is south of here. I think that's somewhere in the area where Don Libes lives. |
