It's a non-issue for most people. Don't worry about it, just use your connection the way you want in a legal, courteous, and reasonable manner. If you get capped, just call up and get uncapped.

This particular thread has been going of for well over three years and the number of posts can not be numbered, they are as the stars in the sky or grains of sand on all of the beaches of the world.
I wonder of Cablevision is holding off on the caps until after New Jersey decides how to franchise cable TV. |

Jaa is talking about this thread alone. The other thread (dont twist my words around) had evry little people complaining of caps just alot of useless cv bashing.
I don't use bit torrent but i do upload occasionally and i have not gotten capepd once. |

I came here because of Cablevision applying the secret cap to my service and the heavy handed Cablevision uncapping process. |

I can't remember which line shows the cap, but heres a docsdiag. I signed up with ool after boost became available and im on the boost tier. |

15/2 service is already enough the boost service is for those junkies into newsgroups downloading distros all day long. |

| i think once boost becomes available in your area, its a sign that the upgrade has been done and the cap trigger is restored. the OOL site tells me i still dont qualify for boost even though i been upgraded to 15/2 for the past 3 weeks. as long they tell me i dont qualify i will use my upload all day long.

| what gets to me is that we all know how shady is CV but not telling customers they are capped. with the 10/1 service people had a hard time getting through that but its BOOST FOR GODS SAKE how are they going to advertise 30/2 and not tell customers they are capped.
now there is no way for the average joe customer service representative to tell boost customers that there is nothing wrong with their connection when they call complaining of having 4450/130.

I use uTorrent to grab mostly documentaries, from such sites as www.chomskytorrents.org and this really worries me. Your schedule seems very non-intrusive. 1 hour on, 1 hour off, 50KB/s limit... I just don't know why I can go and upload for hours or days on IRC but as soon as I run a BT client for a few hours, I end up getting capped.
I've also limited the connections to 1/5th of the normal settings.

Not really, just viciously attack by the Cablevision apologists. Cablevision is lurking and relics an apologist from time to time. They will attack spelling and grammar as even the apologist can't defend Cablevision's side stepping deceptive business practices. |

Same here though I left my computer on all night a week ago with rc4 torrent seeding at 150kBs while folding as well and no cap. Though I must stress that I am in an area that does not have a large OOL user base.
And I completely think it is shady and wrong not to tell people they are capped. I think FIOS redlining is better then OOL capping but lets not go OT about that.

CV still capping .I just recently got uncapped and by the end of the week .Bam!They put the brakes back on.Here in South Amboy the network cant handle a consistent upload of anything close to there promised speeds. |
