My password was randomly reset yesterday to a set of random characters. Must have been a system restore or something at Viatalks end. |

| reply to retsok Well the problem was that my password was wrong. I dont understand how as it worked the day before and then all of a sudden it was wrong. The Customer Service rep who worked on Sunday morning was able to determine the problem immediately and gave me my password. |

| reply to reebok Sorry to hear things didn't work out too well...you're right though, their priority system is pretty much worthless. Urgent calls do not get taken care of any faster than the low priority calls...it seems like it's even slower than just doing a low priority call. I'd suggest they work on that whole system.
But as far as the lnp process, I didn't have any problems, and was actually quite impressed with how they did it. It took about 15 days to go through, and didn't have any downtime. Maybe they're just swamped at the moment. Hope it gets worked out for you though... |

| reply to montano do you remember what server you were switched to? my lnp went through yesterday and I haven't had a dial tone since. marking the support ticket urgent apparently has no effect since I've received faster responses on 'low' tickets. they also didn't notify me of the lnp which caused me to miss several calls during the switch. I'm pretty unimpressed at their ability to handle the user side lnp process right now. -- John Webmaster »www.FileFlash.com |

Viatalk changed the proxy server I was using along with their routing tables and my incoming calls worked before the end of our tech support call. Call them and tell them what I just said and they should be able to fix it. |

| reply to NowVOIP I had this problem back in September. The phone would not ring and calls were going to voicemail. As I have simultaneous ring to my cell phone, my cell phone would ring as well, but not my Viatalk phone.
Working with tech support, we tried changing some setting and even tried setting up the "second line" to receive calls, but that did not work either. He determined it was probably the adapter (it was a Linksys pap2). They sent me a new adapter (Sipura) and I have not had any problems since.
You might want to suggest that they send you a new adapter. Hope that helps! |

1 edit | reply to montano Yes it is a Aastra IP phone..
I spoke to support and they say that they do not see me registered on the network. It has been working for the last 2 months without any problems and I have not changed a single setting on the phone. Support seems to think its on their end. So I await their response. They escalted to level 2 support for further review. |

| reply to psycdoc The Aastra is an IP phone correct? Could be something with the settings in the phone. I have ViaTalk on a PAP2 without issue after porting my Pac Bell number to them. I also use a Grandstream GPX-2000 IP phone with a few other providers. The IP phone has lots of extra settings that the PAP2 does not. Double check everything
I almost purchased the Aastra, but it was a tad out of my price range  -- »www.VoIPAsylum.com || Comcast ISP/ ViaTalk/ GizmoProject/ exgn.net/ Voxee/ Grandstream GXP 2000/ SPA2000/ PAP2|| |

1 edit | Ok I have been a huge fan of Viatalk, but now I am a bit concerned. I recently had my number ported from SBC/AT&T and have had several problems, one of them being I am unable to receive any incoming calls. It just goes directly to voicemail. I am sure its not my router, as my phone is plugged directly into the DSL modem. I put a Friend on to their service and he is experiencing the same problem, he can not receive any incoming calls. Has anyone who uses ViaTalk run into the same problems?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have an Aastra 480i CT. |
