| Provisioned Speed
I just got basic cable on saturday in addition to my HSI,do I need to call Comcast and have them provision my speed up to the 6mb tier? Or will they do it sometime on their own?
I run a linksys modem (which shows provinsioned rate)and even after power cycling it, the Provisioned Rate is still at 4400 kbps. |

| reply to HR20 Define basic cable.. tier 1/Broadcast Basic/economy basic/limited basic? or Tier 1&2 Basic/Full Basic/Expanded basic.
Here in the TC area, you must have FULL BASIC cable to get the 6mb tier. If you only have tier 1 basic cable (Yes, here tier 1 is called basic and tier 2 is expanded) then you only get the 4mb. |

I just talked to a CSR and he said they already upped my speed,I said it didn't take so he,re-did it and now I'm provisioned at 6600 KBPS. |

If so, does it work if you're signed up for internet only and not even basic cable? |

| reply to HR20 In order for you to get the speed upgrade you need to add cable TV.
I had only internet and was paying $57.95 a month,I signed up for Basic Cable TV for $10.75 a month, when you "bundle" the 2 services you get a $15.00 a month discount on your internet service.
So after the monthly fees taxes etc, my new bill is $58.53.
Not a bad deal, 58 cents a month for basic cable and a 2mb increase in internet speed. |
