A little "proggy" called change your DNS servers to something other than what the ISP is giving out.
Or, use there opt out "feature". |

The last time this issue popped up was with Verisign, if I'm not mistaken, where they decided that it was in everyones best interest to hit a search engine instead of a 404 error, and redirected all 404 traffic. 
George, Ari, there are tools such as Google toolbars, MSN toolbars, etc. Why do you need this redirect, and why did you not notify your subscribers? |

I believe Doubleclick's opt out feature is temporary (as in delete the cookie and it automatically assumes you are "opt-in" again). |

1 edit | Delete any cookie changes the setting for that cookie. Just as if you delete the DSLR cookie I guess you have opted back in in to logging in to the site.
If it's that bad, wouldn't just using someone else's DNS get around this anyway?

Only reason i am saying this is i am on price guarantee for life so i would give that up if they started doing more changes that would be affect me |

When my contract comes up for renewal, I'll have to re-evaluate it.
DSL-Extreme - why don't you offer another set of DNS servers i.e. one used by DHCP for your 'lookup' / 404 killer, and one for those that do not want it? |
