Re: Comcast to start using Spamhaus blacklisting

I guess I'll have to tell my customers who use Comcast that they might have trouble receiving my e-mails. SBC/Yahoo hosts my domains, from which I send e-mail. Spamhaus, instead of targetting individual problem IPs, blankets entire ranges, which results in my customers and friends not receiving my e-mails. This happens at least once a month. It's usually resolved within two days or so, but it is a pain in the a$$. Spamhaus is NOT my friend!

Pick a spam friendly provider and you wouldn't have that problem.

Sure would be nice if the stop the flow of crap that comes out of their networks. There isn't 10 minutes that passes where they have some zombie that sends us spam or port scans or some sort of crap comes from them.

This could be said with many providers.

»www.senderbase.org/ Comcast is still #1 spam wise. A close second is Yahoo/SBC. Just use the dynamic rbls or block anyone with a comcast.net address that sends mail to you. Only allow the comcast smtp servers.

He did, that's why he's having the problems Sorry, couldn't resist - I know what you were trying to say.

Count me as one who applauds this move, especially since Spamhaus had Comcast in the "Hall of Shame"

Whoops my bad. That should be: select an organization that is hard on spam.

Yahoo has been hosting and allowing phishing lately and not doing anything about it. I've emailed them atleast 20 times about a site that is hosting a phishing web page and yep weeks later it is still up.

Correction: SBC is not your friend. Why are you paying good money to support a known spamhaus?

In that regard, SBC is doing much better than Comcast.

In my experience, SBC Yahoo (which is, now, officially 'at&t Yahoo! HSI) sources about 1/10th as much zombie spam as Comcast.

Indeed, by that Senderbase link, SBC is not even on the map. Please don't confuse 'yahoo.com' email with the nine SBC domains; none of which are on that Senderbase list.

And please note: It is not "Yahoo/SBC", but "SBC Yahoo! DSL Service", or, more correctly, based on official communication from them, "at&t Yahoo! HSI". The new "at&t" is just one of five ISPs which use Yahoo! as a content provider for their customers.
