Yes, I am not an "advanced" computer user or a computer expert. Does that mean I am not welcome to DSL Extreme? Is DSL Extreme only for "advanced" computer users who can figure out that their own Internet Service Provider redirects you to a server called "http://wwa.look-up-results.com/search?qo=" ?
I chose DSLX is for the great customer service (which I rarely contacted) and the other reason was to support the local, small business in my community in the S.F. Valley.
As a "non-advanced" member of DSLX, I got by pretty well until this event, which wasn't obviously thought through.
I use my computer for things including business/finance so spyware is a serious concern for me, and that was the reason I reformatted and reinstalled. It may have been extreme, but what else could I do aftr I tried everyhing, running scanners, etc.
When the problem still occurred after I reinstalled I thought I would ask my ISP on the forum if they have spyware on their end which is causing me to see this, and when I read the previous post about this "feature", it was just infuriating. |
