NAV 2006 File Counter Discrepancies - Any News?

I am still seeing the file counter discrepancies that started back in February after installing a program update via LiveUpdate. This is the problem where the file counter stops intermittently and the final file count on the scan screen is much lower than the count in the application activities log. Is there any news on when this will be fixed?

I've been asking that same question. I even contacted Symantecs tech support three times through their live chat. All I get is that Symantec is aware of the problem. What the hell does that mean? If they are aware of the problem, why the hell don't they fix it?

It would be interesting to know if this problem affects all NAV 2006 users or just a small subset. If the numbers are low it could explain why it has not yet been fixed.

It would be interesting to know. I noticed not a lot of NAV 2006 users are complaining about it at any of the forums. So either it's just affecting a few, or most people don't care. I have a feeling it's the latter. Myself, I'm thinking of switching to another AV. I'm getting tired of Norton's/Symantec's lack of caring about customer problems.

Well, from my aspect, NAV 2006 runs silently overnight so I just review the activity via the log viewer. Am aware of the scan count problem and do wish they would fix it. But it does not affect the log report so I "live" with it for the time being.

My problem with this is, how do you know for sure that the scan count in the activity log is correct? If while the scan is running, it stops and starts again, as it seems to do, maybe that scan count in the activity log is not correct also. All I'm saying is that for me, and I may be wrong, this doesn't instill a lot of confidence that NAV is scanning everything it is supposed to be scanning. It can't be that big of a problem that Symantec can't fix it in a timely manor.

Did Symantec give you any indication about when the problem might be fixed?

Hi guys.

I heard that this will eventually be fixed in an upcoming patch, but there is no ETA. Hopefully, it is not too long.

I have also been given the same information from Symantec.
