Ok, you are probably going thru the Ramp Up process, just leave your modem on....it usually take 10 days to find your optimal speed.....SATASI

unplug the wall phone from the filter and see if you still have intermittent signal. SATASI
Same deal. I have tried disconnecting all devices and telephone line from the phone system and still it shows a solid green on dsl light, then next minute it goes red again. It seems to be resyncing the connection ever so often. I called sbc and they said give them a day because they probably are adjusting the connection

Is this phone on an outside wall? If so, it may run directly to the NID or protector. You may have to do some creative wiring inside the wall phone.

You can do many different modifiations to get that to work and yes you can modify the filter they sent you any way that you need to. My parents house had the older style lines and I did the mods and used CAT 3 wire from Radio Shack to run the line along with the filtered line to other locations in the house. Make sure you have your wire color codes down since that older wiring sometimes uses different colors.
I opened the jack and surprized to see that the rotary phone is not even connected to the jack. What i see is that the red and orange wires from the rotary phone are connected to white/whiteblue wire going down into the ground using cat 3 cable. While the jack is another 2wire just by itself. So, what's going on?

First, you have to get a modular rj11, second, you have to make a short modular cable on one end and open face on the other end so you can hardwire the open face end into the phone....once all that is done just put your filter in the modular jack and plug the cable you made for the phone in the phone side of the filter. SATASI
I was going to do that in the first place, i just needed some information as if it is going to work or not. So basically, u want me to crimp on a rj11 connector at the end of the rotary phone and then have that plug into the microfilter than stick the microfilter into the jack?

Someone posted i should have a splitter installed, but i don't know how feasible it is as to the cost and time to install. If it's such a hassle i should just stick with my cable.

Like I said earlier it is hardwired in the phone set, if you take the cover off the wall phone you should see the IW wired to terminals T,R,G which is TIP, Ring and ground. SATASI
So, what shall i do?
