Re: Installation guides

It's a rotary phone that is mounted against the wall the jack seems like a pretty modern phone jack, so i don't think it has any special electronics in it.

This is a problem that would be solved with a pocket knife and a screw driver faster then talking about it here.

Cut the dang cable. Strip the red and green leads and connect it to an RJ-11 jack. Pick a jack that can be surface mounted if it's coming out by a baseboard or pick a jack that is recess mounted if it's coming out of the wall. Mount the jack on the wall, throw the old rotary phone away and get a modern telephone. Otherwise splice an RJ-11 jack on the old cable to the phone if you still want to use it.

This isn't rocket science. I was solving problems like this in old houses over 25 years ago when I was 7 years old.

the rotary phone again has no connectors at the end. It goes straight into a jack, i guess it's a modular one I am not a pots person so i don't know.

Like I said earlier it is hardwired in the phone set, if you take the cover off the wall phone you should see the IW wired to terminals T,R,G which is TIP, Ring and ground. SATASI

Someone posted i should have a splitter installed, but i don't know how feasible it is as to the cost and time to install. If it's such a hassle i should just stick with my cable.

First, you have to get a modular rj11, second, you have to make a short modular cable on one end and open face on the other end so you can hardwire the open face end into the phone....once all that is done just put your filter in the modular jack and plug the cable you made for the phone in the phone side of the filter. I was going to do that in the first place, i just needed some information as if it is going to work or not. So basically, u want me to crimp on a rj11 connector at the end of the rotary phone and then have that plug into the microfilter than stick the microfilter into the jack?
