Re: Installation guides

So are you are asking for jack installation instructions and RJ11 installation tips on the phone cord, right? I'm sure satasi See Profile can help you with that once he understand your question.

Ok, i have a rotary phone that at the end is connected through a jack and not plugged in to it. I have no way of installing the filter to the rotary phone because as i said it is installed through the jack, don't ask my how, and not plugged in. So there is no rj11 connecter at the end of this rotary phone.

I am asking for tips on what i can do about it. Maybe this jack is filtered already i don't know, i need info. I need to know if i have to crimp new rj-11 connecters at the end of the rotary phone line and then plug it into the dslfilter and then dsl filter into jack. Sorry if i didn't explain through i guess i thought it was a common problem.

You can either fix this or have a whole-house splitter installed.

Basically just take the jack apart and disconnect the telephone. Then replace the jack with a proper RJ-11 jack. If you want to continue to use the old phone you need to replace the telephone cable with one that has an RJ-11 jack on the end. This will be plugged into the filter which is plugged into the jack.

It's just 2 wires ( red and green ) and really not that much work.

well a rotary phone can be either a desktop or wall phone...now what you have is a hardwired wall phone....goes back to the seventies when we hardwired all phone sets......there a wall plates for dsl but you have to convert the backside of the wall phone with a modular backplate........you will need a kit to convert the backplate for a WE 554 phone to modular so you can use a wall plate that has the filter built in. Enlighter, back in those days we didn't put jacks for wall phones, ran the iw straight to the set and wired them that way. SATASI

Are you sure about this, the rotary phone might be convertd already since it's running through a jack.

It's a rotary phone that is mounted against the wall the jack seems like a pretty modern phone jack, so i don't think it has any special electronics in it.
