What color should I paint.

Yeah, missing hubcaps :o
I got a 1967 El Camino. As you can see it's two tone with orange and black. I want to change the black to ________ (I got no idea).

reason being, the black (as you can see in the 2nd picture), makes it look higher than it really is.

I took these pics with my cell, the car really isn't as dark as it looks.

I was wondering if some of y'all could change the black to..yellow, green, purple, anything.

Thank you.

thing is, it's hard to change black to any other color because all the details are lost when taking a picture of somethign black. you can't see any curves or anything. once you change the color it looks totally unrealistic.

at least that's my experience.

IMO you should re-paint it the original color. That's just me though..

You can very well take photos of something black by exposing for it. However everything else will be a little overexposed but that doesn't matter because we are only worried about the black part.

However with a camera phone I doubt it will let you meter for the black part. You need a real camera to do that.

That's just plain blue, with blue interor. It's not even the original big block.

We do have a normal dig cam. I guess I could play with that some. See how it works out, though it will have to wait.

seen a few with solid colors around here and the Chevy Rally style stripes going front to back over the hood that look nice. The original color will probably make it a little more desirable when you go to sell it even if it had an engine change.

Have you considered metallic blue for the main color and a silver or metallic grey for the lower?

oh I like that idea. Though, you wouldn't be able to spot me a half a mile down the freeway if I was blue

I also like the mothers Camino that dandelion See Profile posted.

I still got a lot to do before paint anyways. So I got nothing but time to think about it.
