| reply to KawiG5 My fourth cruncher, a Craigslist special, is a P4 2.66 GHz. It will be online early next week.
Plans for a brand new dual core are on hold. My head is spinning from reading too many Intel & AMD reviews on dual cores... |

| reply to KawiG5 Had been running an Opteron 146.
One benefit of having a Socket 939 motherboard was that I could interchange a dual core Opteron 175 which I did today.
A relatively cheap way to get a lot more processing power. -- Team Discovery ~ All About Finding Cures |

1 edit | reply to KawiG5 2 AMD Semprons, 1 Pentium 4, and a dual-CPU Xeon with Hyperthreading.
Edit: Funny thing, I realized after posting this that I didn't have Hyperthreading on the whole time! Now that I do, I've noticed something strange, but I'll save that for another thread.
More crunching power!

1 edit | A 3.2 GHz P4 with Hyperthreading and a 2.8 GHz P4 without.
Getting the itch to start building a multi-core or multi-processor system and switching to Vista, preferably something with PCI Express. Also need to update my TV card / software to something that will be Vista / digital / HD ready. Any suggestions for a cost-efficient, but smokin' system would be most welcome. |
