| reply to melissatrv Anyone have a problem with the Outlook junkmail filter installing? I keep getting a failed to install message. I have MS Office 2003 on XP Home/SP2. I don't have Outlook installed, but I never had a problem installing updates for it. All the other updates installed with no problems. |

1 edit | reply to Patruk If you don't have Outlook installed there is no need for Outlook filter, just disable it when updating. Otherwise with Outlook installed it works just fine.
edit@ did you ever have problems with junk filter installing, despite lack of Outlook, or is this first time?

When I first installed MS Offfice 2003, without Outlook, I went to the MS Office update page and installed all the updates. The Outlook junkmail filter update was one of them. It installed with no problems. I believe this is the first Outlook junkmail filter update I've seen through Windows Update. I may be wrong though. Maybe with Windows Update, or Microsoft Update as it's called now, it won't install an Outlook update unless Outlook is installed in the PC. |
