| Linksys RV042 Firewall Access List
Hi All. What i am trying to do is setup an access list on my linksys rv042 that allows three specific IP addresses SSH access to a certain IP on the local network. When I set up the rules I still cannot access the server via SSH from any of those IP's. Do I still need to setup port forwarding even though I have the access rule setup? I assume that I dont have to setup forwarding since that will just pass all SHH traffic coming in on port 22 to the specified server and wont ever look at the access list. When I setup port forwarding along with the access list I can get into the server from any IP address. So I guess I want to know what the proper way is to go about setting this up. Thanks for your help. Chris |

| I'm guessing you still need to forward TCP Port 22 (or whatever port you have SSH listening on) and setup the SSH access list rule. The SSH access list rule would then only allow SSH traffic from the included IP addresses to be forwarded through to the SSH server. -- "When all else fails, read the instructions..." |
