[Wireless] WRTGX2/GX4 with Standard G/B cards, What to expect?

What kind of range increase should you expect upgrading from a WRT54G router to a GX2/GX4 MIMO if the laptop has a standard G or B card? I've been searching for hours now, and I still don't have a clear idea.

Thanks

Re: [Wireless] WRTGX2/GX4 with Standard G/B cards, What to expec

I can tell you from the personal experience of setting up quite a few Pre-N/MIMO routers...that even with old B and G cards...you still benefit from most of the range increase. The only thing you lack...is the speed increase...as each card can only go as fast as it's rated for.

When the Pre-N/MIMO products first came out...I setup one of the first Belkin ones to hit the wholesaler chain...out on this massive summer mansion next to a golf course. I had my backup old laptop with me, using an old Linksys B card. I had awesome coverage in the entire house. I still had time left to kill before taking the ferry back to mainland (on an island here)....so I walked out onto the golf course....walking away from the house...I kept hitting new websites and forums with my laptop. I was blown away...I walked across this green..up a hill...still getting good signal. With my old B card.
