Re: BEFSR41 versions

Yup. That is indeed true for the v1 and v2 versions.

The specifications on the side on my unopened 2005 BEFSX41 box says:

•10/100mbps LAN
•10/100mbps WAN

My old v2 box did indicate a 10mbps WAN and a 10/100mbps LAN.

When I bought a BEFSR41 in 2001 it was a V2. Was still working when I sold it on but both V1 and V2 have the same 10Mbps half-duplex WAN port you probably should avoid these days (or buy very cheap with eyes open!)

It should say it. If it doesn't it is a v1.

Http://www.linksysinfo.org might have more info but I'm on my phone and can't check.
I just picked up a BEFSR41 and unfortunately it does NOT offer the "v2 packaging" hint at thew bottom of the box by the barcode.

Do you know if the YEAR of packaging would help?
The packaging just shows the year as 2005.
I think there are indeed MORE versions of the BEFSR41 router than what Linksys website indicates!

Get a pic of the label. It should say it. If it doesn't it is a v1.

Is there a way to determine what version router you are getting w/o physically picking up the box. I'm trying to buy one over the net but i don't want to get one of the older version.
