Because it loads stuff we don't want and attempts to make everything run through Real Player.

I had a MAJOR issue with Winamp and Real Player.. everytime I would tell Real Player to not play MP3's and I switch it over to Winamp, it seems everyday I was changing it back to Winamp.

my best thing was to not install it period.

For the most part, yes. But I've seen a few recent things that had pretty good quality. I was very surprised.
