New DSLExtreme customer

Got the $29.97 (+Tax...why oh why) Business service. Hopefully everything goes smoothly as I canceled earthlink BEFORE I started using their internet connection (They had a mishap with shipping the modem, and being late on a new shipment). So it's gonna take them 3-5 days to release the line because it was activated already so DSLExtreme can go ahead and provision it. That's another 3-5 days.

Is DSLX Business PPPoE? I grabbed a Linksys router for firewall protection and of course for sharing the internet.

I trust you guys, as I signed up with DSLExtreme because of very positive posts on this forum.

DSLExtreme users unite?? I will tell my experiences after I start using the service..

Welcome to DSLExtreme. If you need anything please feel free to send me an IM or posting directly on this forum. Your connection will be a DHCP connection.

Thank you. I trust that I will never have to call Tech Support as the ride will go smoothly

I have a small question though, can you guys force earthlink to remove their paws from my line sooner than 3-5 days?

And about DHCP (Which is basicly like my cable connection without using a password to get on the 'net) how soon do your IPs change? As I have an issue with DHCP at my business as it's on a network of computers. The startup lags because it's set on "Automatic DHCP" but I have disabled that and entered my router IPs and now the bootup is faster. Will I have issues when I get the connection running? I have a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. 2 PC's running WinXP SP2.

Thank you

Unfortunately there is no way to get your order pushed up faster. As for you ip changing since you have a router you will not see it changing since your router will be requesting the ip address when its needed.

Thanks Aldo.

10 more days to go for DSL (April's wasted).
