I fully expect the RIAA to sue a dead person relatively soon.
Didn't they already do this?

[I fully expect the RIAA to sue a dead person relatively soon.
Na, what'll happen, since they found they can't sue those under 18, is the following:

-- packaging on CD's will become like software, with lengthy copyright license terms on the outside detailing what you can, and cannot, do with the copyrighted material contained on the CD therein;

-- opening of the package will constitute acceptance of the terms of the license;

-- since this acceptance is only enforcable on adults, stores will be prohibited from selling CD's to anyone under 18;

-- Oops! Someone in the music companies realizes that almost all of their existing sales are to people under 18; "what will we do now"?

Very simple. Pay more dollars to congress and have the laws changed that anyone regardless of age can be sued. No more protection for pre-18 year olds!

Re: great

But how does any of that stop a 13 year old from downloading and sharing music?

No one has to buy anything for that to occur.

Here's another link:

(Though there's something ironic about the link being dead too. )

Hell i miss the warmer sound of vinal my self. There are some highly specialized sound cards out there that add this warmness. Theres a paticular mother board that uses a cathode tube to add a warmness to the sound. Ive heard one in use and it is quite nice make most high end sound cards sound like total crap in comparison.

Personaly im suprised the record execs havent started creating vinal records to make some cash. There are still a large number of the 30+ crowd my self included who would buy records. Its funny but you can buy serious stereo equipment equiped with things like turntables and even 8 track tape decks (corse they also have cd player tape deck and cd burner and are many 1000s of dolors and are mostly aimed at people looking to make masters or remasterign of new albums.)

They do still sell vinyl records. I have some new ones in my stash. And many of my Vinyl Records I listen to in mp3 format on my computer. There is no way to stop the digitization of sound. Physically impossible, short of physically removing the recording device from everybody.

Does it come with a spare? Do you have to wait for it to warm up prior to use? Man, if those caps blow...

Yeow!

Cool though. My brother rebuilt a Mcintosh tube amp and the thing would crank and blow any speakers we had. Three HUGE transformers...I painted skulls on them for him. Too bad he sold it as now they make speakers thak can handle them.

Tubes. Geeks rule!

I would have sworn this was all an April Fool's day hoax, if I hadn't gone to the AOpen site:

»usa.aopen.com/Products/mb/ax4b-533tube.htm

As an old tube-tech from radio years ago, I don't see how this triode amp, even if its taking the output off the Cathode, isn't emitting so much RFI inside that computer case it doesn't induce voltages EVERYWHERE on every buss and on every signal cable. Tubes are RFI demons!

I don't think it comes with a spare, but the print says they make tubes that will replace this one if/when it fails.

Do they make a sound card that uses a vacuum tube?

I wouldn't put it past them.
If the &^AA had their way, they would ban all recording devices.
They've been fighting it since the Dark Ages.
